Venus Gloria Guest, a long time resident of Kalispell, Mt. passed away February 22, 2017 in Portland Oregon at the age of 91.
Born on October 3rd 1925 in Billings, Mt. she was one of three children born to Ora and Garlan Qualls. In September of 1937 her family moved to Tacoma Washington where she met and married of husband of 64 years Francis LaMar Guest. Venus and Fran had 5 children: LaMar, Muriel, Marlene, Mark and Kevin. They are the grandparents of 15 grand children and 28 great grand children.
Venus was involved in a variety of community and religious organizations and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in numerous callings including Relief Society President 3 times. Venus and Fran also served a full time mission in the New York Rochester Mission. Venus loved music and was an accomplished pianist. Her life revolved around her family and her religion.
Venus was preceded in death by her parents Ora and Garlan Qualls, her brother Gary, her husband Francis and her grand daughter Erin. She is survived by her 5 children: LaMar and Bobbi Guest of West Jordan, Ut. Muriel Guest-Reed of Kalispell, Mt, Marlene Francis of Portland Oregon, Mark and Grace Guest of Kalispell, Mt and Kevin and Lori Guest of Riverton, Ut. her sister Deanna Freiberg of Kalispell, Mt and 43 grand children.
Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Whitefish Stage Road in Kalispell. Viewing will be at 10:00am Saturday March 4, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 11:00am with burial at Conrad Memorial Cemetary. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the Guest family.
