Dear Kit and family;
Just to let you know how saddened we were to hear of Mike's passing. We go back to remembering those early days when we were first married, living in Eureka, always seeing Mike working hard when we went into the gas station. Doing business and visiting Mike at the tire shop during all the years we have been in Kalispell was always such a pleasure. We always admired Mike's great personality, work ethic and all that you both accomplished. You have so much to be proud of. We sincerely hope all the memories of the love you shared and the good times throughout the years will help you through this very difficult time. Sincerely, Rod and Nancy Osler

Dear Kit and family,

Jane and I are so sorry for your loss and truly regret we were not in town to attend Mike's memorial service. We knew Mike to be an honest businessman and friend of many decades. Mike and I grew up in Eureka with cousins Stan, Ron and Big Mike. It was quite a crew. I introduced Jane to Mike and Kit and the businesses created in the late 1970's. M and C Tire was our tire shop for all the tires we needed for Jane's several Saab automobiles which could wear out tires in a third the warranty mileage. Mike could see humor in this and never questioned honoring replacements. We told everyone we met to see Mike at M and C for their tire needs. He truly set a high bar for professionalism. When we visited last summer Mike and I were still reliving the humor related to the Saab tires. We both will miss Mike and send are sincere sympathy.

Dearest Kit and family,
Stoney and I are extremely shocked and saddened by Mike's passing. My Mom called us here in Milpitas, CA to tell us the horrible news. I cried and Stoney was very, very moved to hear his old friend was gone. We have been planning to look up our old dear friends when we move back to Kalispell in about 3 years to live in our house on Garland Street. We talked of getting together wth our buddies and talking about old times. We know things change so fast now!
Stoney and I have known the Holders since about 1976 or 77(time flies) when we moved across the street from them on Zimmerman Road. As we were moving in, they came over to help. Mike and Kit and the kids became very close to us and we enjoyed them so much! Stoney and Mike talked "cars" and Kit and I talked about landscaping, starting a business, and lots of gossip over cigarettes and coffee.
After we moved to Hawai'i they came for a quick visit and I always tried to stop to see Mike and or Kit at the tire shop when I got to Kalispell. My mom loved how well the guys took care of her when she needed work done. I could never thank Mike and Carey enough for the honest work they provided her.
We are so sorry and sad. We always have such great memories and still talk about the wonderful kids...and Betsy and Barney, those little beagle rascals! Our love to you all, family and friends. We know how precious they are. Love and Hugs, Carla and Stoney Moss.

A true friend is what we found when we me Mike. The first time I met Mike was in a RV Park in Oregon, he was walking his dogs early in that morning. I asked him where they were going and he said Arizona. Two days later, he and Kit are parked across the street and 3 lots over. Mike always was willing to help, listen and enjoyed a good laugh, sometimes at you expense.

We will miss him, but he will always be with us each time we are with friends that because of this man became part of the Holder Family.

God Bless Mike and the Holder Family

Richard and Patricia

Kit and family, my heart is deeply saddened with the news of Mike's passing. You had so many wonderful years with such a good, good man and I pray those happy memories give you some comfort. He was a man of integrity and kindness and a profound love of family. I will always remember his mischievous smile, like he knew something you didn't, a fun surprise or secret he couldn't wait to spill, but wouldn't. He will always be admired for his character, sharp mind and light spirit. You are all in our hearts and prayers during this very difficult time and adjustment. May the good Lord hold you close when you tire and lift you up when you feel strong again.
In Sympathy and Friendship,
Terri and Kyle Mills A.K.A."little dude', Mikes name for him

Rest in peace, Mike. I always saw the gleam in your eye when Bart and his mates would get caught doing something foolish. It was as if you were disappointed but knew deep down that your boy was just like you. I have described your M&C Tire experience to others as a true American success story: from nothing to something powered by sheer hard work. We'll miss you.

I'm saddened by Mikes passing. I delivered UPS to M&C for many years - one of my first stops of the day. Had many fun moments w/ Mike. Truly a swell guy.

It is with a sad and heavy heart that we write this message on Mike's passing. We only came to know Mike & Kit about three years ago here in our little community of Province in Maricopa, AZ. We had wonderful times together. Mike was the greatest of friends. His ever present smile was infectious and would always light up the day. Mike will be missed by many. We are so sorry for your loss. He was truly a great man.
