The Duke family is in my prayers and I am so sorry for your loss of Maddie. We've all had to endure the sorrow of losing a loved one in death. What helped me the most was prayer and faith in God's promises like found here at Isaiah 25: 8 and it tells us: "He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces." I worked at the high school for twenty years. In that time a few students stand out as amazing people. Madison is one of those few. She always had a glow around her, a joy in living and seemed to genuinely enjoy helping others. She stood out as very special. The world lost a beautiful spirit. My deepest sympathy at your incalcualble loss.

Watching Maddie, Jamie and later Wyatt walking up the driveway after getting off the school bus was a joy, as I was able to watch those kids grow over the years. Maddie had a penetrating, distinctive voice as a child and as she grew it remained one of a kind. She would always wave as she left in her car and that made my day. What a sweet kid. I will miss her very much.
To Andy, Stephanie, Jamie and Wyatt, and to grandpa Ed, grandma Wendy and uncle Scott please know that Nancy & I grieve with you and share your pain. Please also know that I saw in Maddie a little girl who was a vocal adventurer grow into a young woman who wanted to experience everything life had to offer, and did so with vigor. I fervently believe she resides in Gods Glory now.
