Donald “Don” Clifford Holm, 82, of Kalispell MT formally of Stanley ND passed away March 23, 2017 at Health Center Northwest, Kalispell MT.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 1:00pm at Eidsvold Lutheran Church, Somers MT. Memorials can be made to the Flathead Lutheran Bible Camp in Lakeside MT, Eidsvold Lutheran Church, Somers MT.
Don was born September 11, 1934 in Stanley, ND to Albert and Amanda (Fretheim) Holm. He graduated from Stanley High School in 1953. He joined the Army in 1955 and was discharged in 1957. Upon returning he worked on the family farm. In 1958 Don married Grace Speiser. They made their home in Stanley where they raised their 3 children. Don was active in the community and was a member of the Stanley Volunteer Fire Dept., served on the Park Board and was the Mountrail County Civil Defense Director. After retiring from farming Don managed the Stanley Golf Course and the Bowling Alley and was a fishing guide on Lake Sakakawea.
In 1986 they moved to Kalispell, MT. During his working years in Kalispell, he was the manager of the Kalispell Bus Depot, Evergreen Spa and was a fishing guide on Flathead Lake. He also worked at Sykes Grocery and Mini Mart. Don continued to serve the community as a Trustee for the South Kalispell VFD.
Don enjoyed fishing and hunting and spending time in the outdoors.
Spending time with his family was his greatest joy.
Don is survived by his wife Grace, his daughter Cindy and son Jim (Carol) all of Kalispell, MT and his daughter Nancy (Scott) Livingstone of Londonderry, NH. One granddaughter Shannon Livingstone (Chris Joubert) of Londonderry, NH. Stepbrother Duane Lindberg. Stepsister Betty Haskins. Step Grandchildren Serena Schulz (Tyler Sager) and Samantha (Mike) Thon. Step Great-Grandchildren Kloey Kramer and Tyler Sager.
He is also survived by numerous cousins.
Don was proceeded in death by his parents Albert and Amanda, his step-mother Ruth (Lindberg), his in-laws James and Mayme Speiser and aunts, uncles and cousins.
