Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss of your husband and father.

I first met Steve when we were both Crew Chiefs in HMM-164 in 1974 and 1975. I was from Chicago and Steve from the boonies, but I liked Steve from the start. He was a hardworking, no-BS Marine who took great pride in keeping his bird in top shape. Steve, and I and fellow Crew Chief Lon Chaney (who would go on to save Steve's life after the crash) spent many hours sitting in the sun on the ship and planning our futures after the Corps. I can see by your families tributes to him that Steve stayed a fine man after the Corps and raised a fine family. I've known many Marines but Steve was always one of the finest. Thanks to facebook, we reconnected last year and traded some old war stories.

Perhaps someday Steve, if I'm lucky enough, we can meet up in heaven and guard the streets of heaven together, once again Marines.

To my father, it was an honor to be your daughter. You will forever be in my heart and truly missed. I will never forget our long drives in the Mountains, truck hunting and all our long talks. You stories were captivating.. I love you dad and miss you so much...I will always and forever will be your little girl, your Mush Mouse...

My heart and prayers go out for all of you !! What a beautiful recall of Steves life in his obituary. In the years that I knew Steve I would sometimes have the chance to engage in conversation with him one on one. I will always treasure those times. We talked about our horses and the God given adventures we each had in the great and wonderful mountains and out doors. He always talked with a passion and and deep felt love for life and those he shared it with. I think of him now riding that beautiful horse in mountains alive with all the promises of spring; Riding straight in the saddle with Gods Love.abounding. Happy trails to Steve and all those whose lives he touched so deeply!!

We are saddened to learn that you’re mourning the loss of your dear love one. However, it saddens our God even more. No doubt, you have many fond memories which will resurface from time to time. And because you do have memories, certainly shows that almighty God has memories as well. Therefore, with full confidence you can take comfort in knowing that he longs to restore perfect life to all those in his memory (Job 14:13-15; Rev 21:3, 4). Please accept our condolences at this most distressing time.
