Dennis "DJ" Ronald Jarvis of Bigfork MT passed away at his home on July 14, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at The Church at Creston on Thursday July 20 at 1:00PM. Family and friends will also have a gathering at the church immediately after the service.
DJ was born December 13, 1939 in Hanford California to Alvin and Blanche (Schrader) May. He graduated from Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga CA and did some college courses at UCLA. He married Lynn Frances Firth on May 14, 1961. DJ joined the Los Angeles City Fire Department in 1962 and retired after 26 years on a service disability.
DJ created several businesses over the course of his life. He built cabinets and taught himself how to program computers, producing one of the first checkbook management programs ever built for a PC -Simi Valley CA. DJ was a partner in a publishing software business -Woodland Hills CA. He was a partner in a home building company and was partnered with his son in an online recruiting business -Bigfork MT. He enjoyed working on cars, camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, hiking, and spending time with family.
DJ was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Elaine (Jarvis) Danbacher, and niece Leanne (McCord) Decker.
DJ is survived by his wife Lynn, sister Carol McCord, Long Beach CA, daughter Deborah (Peter) Rivera, San Fernando CA, son Stephen (Terri) Jarvis, Hamilton MT, son Matthew (Patty) Jarvis, Livingston MT, granddaughter Danielle Jarvis, Seattle WA, grandson Kevin Jarvis, Milwaukee WI, nephew Bryan McCord, Long Beach CA, sister in law Aprille Firth Johnson, Wofford Heights CA, nephew Bob Borth Jr., Wofford Heights CA.
