On September 28, 2018 William (Bumps) Paul Winter, age 89, passed away at the Kalispell Regional Medical Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
Bumps was born August 5, 1929 in Great Falls to Thomas & Alice Winter, the youngest of 5 children. He lived in Great Falls, Seattle and Kalispell where he graduated from Flathead County High School in 1948. Thru the years he worked as a pin setter at Skyline Bowl, several lumber mills, Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant, Buffalo Hills Golf Course, Hardees and a Referee. For fun he loved to play pool, fish, hunt, baseball, bowling, golfing, play cribbage, pinochle, and puzzles and grow a garden. Among his accomplishments are bowling the first 300 game here, 10 hole-in-ones, and member of the Eagles Aerie 234 for over 70 years. He’ll be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit, as he was always ready with a joke or a humorous tale. But above all he loved his family. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Bumps in preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marylyn and Doris, brother Thomas, wives Margie and Bonnie. He is survived by this sister Genevieve, daughter’s Della Kienas, Kalispell, Sandra Winter, Phoenix, son Robert (Bob) Winter, Kalispell, step daughters, Lori Nelson, Kalispell, Tammy Bohland, Lakeside, Cindy Pilcher, Seattle, Debbie Robinson, Idaho, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the VFW Club in Kalispell on October 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
