Thomas Raymond Powell was born July 5, 1930, on the family farm in Hopkins County, Kentucky, and passed away June 6, 2020, in Kalispell.
After growing up on the farm and completing high school Tom joined the Navy and was a member of the Navy Sea Bees spending much of his tour building the Subic Bay Naval base. Tom was discharged from the Navy in Southern California and married Margaret Simmons in 1954 settling in the small LA suburb of Gardena.
Tom was employed by Chevron Oil Company and completed a long and fruitful career with Chevron. Tom and Marge relocated to Bigfork in 1985 when Tom retired from Chevron.
Tom and Marge had two children, Tommy and Debbie, who both reside in Bigfork, and four grandchildren, Brooke, Chris, Amy and Tiffany.
Tom was a hardworking man who shared his love of life with all those he encountered. Tom you will be dearly missed. Rest in peace.
