Thomas G Byrd

April 23, 1971 ~ October 29, 2016 (age 45) 45 Years Old
Thomas Gregory Byrd, aka “Tommy B”, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 5:10 AM peacefully in hospice care in the arms of his loving wife Cassie Rae Byrd from complications related to Colon Cancer. He was 45 years old.
Thomas is preceded by his mother the late Annette Byrd of East Providence, Rhode Island. He is survived by his loving wife, Cassie Rae Byrd, of Columbia Falls, MT, and their beautiful children Jadyn, Joshua, and Raeghan aka “Cubby Bear” who reside in Kalispell, Montana; additionally, he is survived by his wonderful children Justin, Zachary, Tori, Kyle, Nicole, Evan, Rebecka and Cayden;  grandchildren, Jaidyn, Aceson and Jeylen; father, Melvin Byrd of Jackson, Mississippi; siblings, William, Michael, Melissa, Stacy, Theresa, Charity, Sarah and Carolynn; and his nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Although residing in Kalispell, Montana, Thomas was born in Providence, Rhode Island on April 23, 1971. He attended Broad Street Elementary, Roger Williams Middle and Central High School before moving to Seattle, Washington in 1987 where he attended and graduated from Chief Sealth High School in 1990.
Thomas enjoyed sports, especially football…”Edgewood Eagles and GO HAWKS!” as well as movies…”This is Sparta!”, physical fitness, reading and spending time with his family. Long known for his positive outlook on life and his sense of humor, sometimes dry yet hilarious at the same time. For example, he had a few sayings like, “Ace in your face" or "Peace for Grease” or he would jokingly call people, “Reggie or Scrub." Most people never knew what it meant, yet it was hilarious and we laughed uncontrollably.
Thomas had a way of bridging the gap and bringing a diverse group of people together. He also loved to entertain and show off his grilling skills. He could grill up the best steaks or smoke up the best brisket in town with his Traeger Grill & Smoker, and he’ll be doing that yet again…bringing people together for another laugh and walk down memory lane. Thomas will forever be loved and never forgotten.
For his Montana family and friends, a memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Pastor Phil Christianson of Canvas Church will be officiating. An additional memorial will be held for his family and friends in Seattle on a date that is still to be determined.
