On Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, Mary Louise Errecart Raborn, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away from complications from breast cancer at the age of 63.
Mary Louise was born on Aug.14, 1956, in Buffalo, Wyoming, to Jean and Maria Errecart. Born into a fiercely Basque and Catholic family and community, she grew up in Buffalo, graduating from Buffalo High School in 1974. Shortly after graduation, Mary Louise moved to California where she attended Fresno State University before being hired as a probation officer by the Tulare County Probation Department, in August of 1979.
On Sept. 5, 1981, Mary Louise married the love of her life, Clyde Raborn. Six years later the couple welcomed their only child, Grant Matthew Raborn on June 3, 1987. In addition to being a dedicated, loving mother and wife, Mary Louise was also voracious reader, an adventurous traveler, a talented gardener and a wonderful cook.
After an illustrious 34-year career, Mary Louise retired from the Tulare County Probation Department as an assistant chief of probation in 2013. Together with Clyde, the two retired to Western Montana where she spent her time enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Big Sky state. In her spare time, Mary Louise gave back to her community by volunteering at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church social concerns program in Flathead County, continuing her legacy of giving and caring.
Mary Louise will forever be remembered for her good humor, compassion and limitless love for her family and friends.
Mary Louise is survived by her devoted husband Clyde, her adoring son Grant, her daughter-in-law Eryn, grandson Lincoln, sister Jeannette, and brother John, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Jan. 25 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Kalispell, beginning with a rosary at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m.
Remembrances may be sent to 71 C.W. Mitchel Court, Marion, MT 59925.
