Marvin L. Hobbs, 91, was born Dec 11, 1929 in Chinook Montana.  On September 25, 2021 Marvin went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with Dementia. He died surrounded by family at his home of 59 years.  
Marvin grew up in Hogeland, Montana where he attended school and helped on the family farm/ranch until 1945. 
In 1945 Marvin’s family moved to Harlem Montana where the family managed a motel and convenience store for two years. 
In 1947 Marvin and his family moved to Kalispell Montana where he graduated from Flathead High School in 1948. 
In 1950 Marvin attended the University of Montana, graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1954.  
In 1954 following graduation, Marvin enlisted in the U.S. Air force for 2 years, stationed at Francis E. Warren Air Force base in Wyoming. Marvin received an early honorable discharge to return home to care for his sick father in November of 1955.  
In 1956 Marvin assisted his mother with managing the Dillon Hotel in Kalispell for the next eight years, which his parents owned. 
In 1958 Marvin married Tyra Rydell on April 12, 1958 in Kalispell. To this union three children were born, Julie, James (Jim), and Colleen. 
In 1964 Marvin managed Kal-Mont Lumber Company in Kalispell, which was part of the O’Neil family-owned business. The lumber company closed their doors to business in 1980. 
Being semi-retired Marvin took an interest in real estate, working for Doug Johns and Century 21 until 1991 when he decided to fully retire. 
 
Marvin enjoyed spending time with his children, being involved in the Methodist church as a trustee, spending weekends at the family cabin on Flathead Lake, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, wood working, doing home improvements, attending Christian crusades, and traveling to see family, often visiting his childhood homestead in Hogeland, Mt.  Marvin’s first wife (Tyra) passed away in 2015 which brought about many changes in his life. 
Marvin married Jeanne Keith on June 11, 2017 in Kalispell at the young age of 87. No children were born to this marriage.  
Marvin was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gordon Hobbs and Lydia (Hobbs) Rushcall of Kalispell, Paul Rushcall (Step father) of Kalispell, three sisters: Doris (Joseph) Leon, of Honolulu Hawaii, Faye Despain of San Francisco CA, and Vera Hobbs of Hogeland Mt. His first wife Tyra (Rydell) Hobbs of Kalispell.  
Marvin is survived by his wife Jeanne (Keith) Hobbs, three children: Julie Rauscher of Spearfish, SD, James (Jim) Hobbs of Everett WA, and Colleen Hobbs of Kalispell, Mt. Jeanne (Keith) Hobbs’ daughter Lisa (Mark) Jones and their 3 children of Kalispell. Eight grandchildren: Karen Rauscher (Pat Petitt) of spearfish SD, Leslie Rauscher of spearfish SD, Brian (Amber) Rauscher of Orange CA, Ryan Hobbs of Gillette Wy, Justin Hobbs of Gillette WY, Amanda (Zach) Poole of Bigfork Mt. Five great grandchildren: Keyvin Rauscher of Gillette WY, Austin Rauscher (Amy and 2 children) of Fort Bragg, NC, Jacob Petitt of spearfish, SD, Koen Poole of Bigfork Mt, Eladie Poole of Bigfork, Mt. One great, great grandchild is due in February 2022.   
 
Visitation will be held October 7, 2021 from 5 PM till 7 PM at Johnson Gloschat funeral Home. 
Funeral services will be held on October 8, 2021 at Johnson-Gloschat funeral home at 11 AM. Interment will follow the service at Conrad Cemetery.
