Linda Simpson Cloutier passed away peacefully at her home in Kalispell on November 14, 2018
after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 2, 1948 to Hap and Helen Simpson of Kalispell. She graduated from
Flathead High School in 1967 and went on to attend Pacific Lutheran University and the
University of Montana where she was affiliated with Kappa Alpha Theta. She met Brian Cloutier
while at school in Missoula and they married in 1969. They moved to Kirkland, WA where their
daughter Lisa was born in 1970. They then moved to Sacramento, CA before returning to
Kalispell in 1974 after purchasing Glacier Insurance. They later owned and operated Home
Oxygen Company and were partners in the development of Eagle Bend and Northern Pines golf
courses. Linda spent many sunny winters at Bermuda Dunes Country Club in the California
desert and enjoyed summers on the east shore of Flathead Lake. Over the last 20 years Linda
helped in the management of her daughter Lisa’s businesses in Woods Bay where her
delightful, loving, and humorous personality was much appreciated by all.
Linda had a great love of travel and saw many locals throughout world with friends and her
daughters Jenny and Lisa. She particularly loved the beaches of Hawaii and the Caribbean, a
trip to China in 1983 with here parents, and a very special journey to Churchill, Manitoba in
2003 to see polar bears. Glacier Park was her happy place on earth where she enjoyed
countless drives to Logan Pass, picnics on Lake McDonald and walks with her family and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hap and Helen Simpson of Kalispell. She is survived
by her daughter Lisa Cloutier and husband Brian Anderson of Bigfork; daughter Jenny of
Whitefish; her brother Larry Simpson and his wife Margie of Kalispell; and twin sister Kay Leary
and her husband Tom of Glenbrook, NV. Linda was a beloved aunt of five nephews and a great
aunt to six adoring grand nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care doctors at Kalispell Regional Medical Center
and Dr. Karen Hunt of Northwest Oncology, as well as the the many caring individuals with

A celebration of life is planned for the middle of May 2019.
