Tribute

Lewis Lester Hutton wonderful father, husband, brother, and friend to all went home to the arms of Jesus and a happy place after much suffering from cancer.  He died at Logan Health Center with family and friends by his side on March 2, 2022.

Lewis was born in Havre, Montana on January 1, 1939 to Lester David Hutton and Ruth Elizabeth Hutton.  He had two sisters Loraine Jones and Sharon Hutton.  When Lewis was three the family moved to the Flathead Valley where the family farmed North of Kalispell.  Lewis attended Pine Grove School through eighth grade and graduated from Flathead High School in 1957.  During his high school years and through 4-H programs he won several State and National tractor driving awards winning a trip to compete in Washington D.C.

Lewis married Bonnie Halvorson in 1961 and from that marriage Robin, Randy, Jaime, and Michelle were born.  He gained a second son, Jay Halvorson, through that marriage.  They later divorced.  In 1982 he met and married  Michaelena (Mickey) Bibey after a three-months courtship.  They lived at Echo Lake until moving to Kalispell to help his folks on the farm.

Lewis was a logger, self-loading truck driver, farmer, and had a wood yard later in life.  You could always find him at his shop rebuilding something.  He had a tractor collection that he was fixing up, rebuilding a truck or a skidder.   He could fix anything and was an excellent mechanic.  When the weather was nice he was haying, which he loved.  Lewie logged in Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado.  He was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalispell and was a head usher.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Lester Hutton, and sister Sharon Hutton.  He is survived by his wife Mickey of 39 years; sister Loraine (Rodger) Jones of Kalispell; children Robin (Jill) Hutton of Sheridan, Wyoming; Randy (Kristie) Hutton of Billings, Montana; Jaime (Rhonda) Hutton of Mooresville, North Carolina; Michelle Hutton of Somers, Montana; and step-sons Jay (Virginia) Halvorson, John (Deena) Stein, and Paul Stein and girl friend Santana Cahallero all of Kalispell, Montana; eleven Grandchildren, eight Great Grandchildren, and six Nieces and Nephews.

Private family graveside at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Paster Brian Lee.  A reception will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church.  Memorials can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Kalispell.
