Elenore Louise (Kassner) Fischbach passed away June 1, 2020, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Somers on May 3, 1929, to Adam and Bertha Kassner. She attended grade school in Somers, graduated from Flathead County High School in 1947, and received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and RN from Montana State University in Bozeman in 1951.
Elenore married Robert J. Fischbach on July 5, 1952, in Kalispell. Robert retired in 1987 following a 35-year career with Texaco Refining, and they moved to Kalispell that same year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, who died in Kalispell on Dec. 15, 1991, of advanced melanoma; their only child, Sharon (Mrs. F. David Paris) who died in Deep River, Connecticut, on July 31, 1992, of acute myeloid leukemia; her father and mother; brother Ewald Kassner; sister-in-law Thelma Kassner; sister Irene; and brothers Paul and Gerhart.
Survivors include son-in-law F. David Paris of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; niece Linda Goldberg of Los Gatos, California; and nephew Jay Kassner of Anchorage, Alaska.
Elenore was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married.
Per Elenore’s request, there will be no service. Her ashes will be interred at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell. Memorials may be sent to the charity of donor’s choice.
