Edith Mae Sanders

May 14, 1934 ~ January 11, 2016 (age 81) 81 Years Old
Edith Sanders, loving wife, mother and grandmother peacefully passed away in her home with family surrounding her on January 11, 2016 after a battle with cancer.
She was born May 14, 1934 to Ansel and Helen Filloon Anderson in Fort Collins, Colorado. Edith graduated from Timnath High School in 1952 and in the following year, she married the love of her life, Edwin H. Sanders on January 18th, 1953 and together, they completed almost 63 years of marriage.
Edith was born into and loved the life of farming and she worked beside her husband on a Colorado dairy farm which also produced hay and corn crops.  After moving from Colorado to the family farm located at Creston, Montana, they raised wheat, hay, barley and beef.  She took great pride in her talent of swathing and baling a field of alfalfa with “Not a missed corner or alfalfa stem left standing in the field.”
When she was not driving her Allis Chalmers 7045 tractor, she drove a yellow school bus taking community students to their schools.  The pinnacle of her nearly 40 years and 1 million miles of driving a school bus was when she received the Montana School Bus Driver of the Year Award in 2004.  After retiring she found pleasure in quilting, growing beautiful flower gardens and enjoying her family.  Anyone who knew Edith saw her strong faith and belief in her savior, Jesus Christ and we daily received the blessings of her prayers and faithfulness.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Wayne Anderson, son-in-law Ronald Doll, two baby cherub babies Doll, and granddaughter Madison Mae Murer.  She is survived by her husband Edwin and her sister Laura Langan, three daughters, Debra Doll, Coleen (Richard) Baars and Connie (Keith) Murer.  Grandchildren include James and Andrew (Katie) Doll, Richard M. Baars, Robert (Amy) Baars, Michaela, Mackenna, McKinlie, and McCall Murer. Great grandchildren include Riley, Dru, and Gideon Doll and Jordan, Kyan, and Scarlett Baars as well as loved nieces and nephews.
