Eddy Lou (Whipple) Benson, 93, of Kalispell, Montana passed away on July 29, 2023;
She was born December 13, 1929 in Scobey, Montana to Keith and Abnona (Fagan) Whipple, she joined a 2 year old sister Dixie Lee.
Eddy Lou attended all twelve years of school in Scobey, Wolf Point and Glendive until November 1956 when they moved to Columbia Falls and were both employed by the Anaconda Aluminum Company. Palmer was offered a position with a new Anaconda Plant in Henderson, KY where he set up the safety program. The couple returned to Montana in January 1976. After returning to the Flathead Eddy was employed by Kalispell regional Hospital where she was manager of data processing department for 17 years, she retired in 1993.
Eddy Lou was very active in the Order of Eastern Star, she served as Worthy Grand Matron of Montana 1988-89 for the Centennial Session. She was also a member of Daughters of the Nile and several other Masonic related organizations. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kalispell.
Eddy Lou was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, an infant son, her parents and her sister Dixie Jensen-Morast. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday August 25, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A reception will follow at Woodland Park Pavillion.
