Dorothy J. Flint was born to Fred and Jessie Haverty on August 13, 1914 at Hall, Montana.  She died on November 15, 2016 at the Immanuel Lutheran Skilled Care Center in Kalispell, Montana

Dorothy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Missoula, Montana and attended the Montana State Teachers College at Dillon where she received her teacher’s credentials.  After graduation she taught at a rural one-room school on Rock Creek for a year.  Following that she taught elementary school in Phillipsburg, Montana for several years.

Dorothy married Curtis Flint on November 14, 1942 at Camp White (Medford) Oregon.  While Curtis was serving in World War II, she returned to Phillipsburg where she was elected Granite County Superintendent of Schools in 1944.  Following the War she and Curtis moved to California.  Curtis returned to the army in 1950.  In the years that followed they lived in a variety of location including Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, West Germany, San Bruno, California.  Following his retirement, they resided in San Jose, California.  In 2002 they moved to Kalispell, Montana.

Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother. She was active in the Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends

Dorothy is survived by three sons, four grand children and one great grand daughter.  Son Fred, wife Nancy and grandson Jim reside in Columbia Falls.  Grandson Al and great granddaughter Teagen reside in Manhattan, MT. Son Bob and wife Fran reside in Anchorage, AK.  Son Bill and wife Carol reside in San Jose, CA.  Grandson A.J. resides in Ely, NV.  Granddaughter Jean resides in Graton CA.

She was preceded in death by Curtis, her parents and sister Marjorie.
  
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Immanuel Lutheran Skilled Care Center in Dorothy’s honor.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 12:10 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Kalispell, Montana. A burial will immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls, Montana.
