Don Graham

Don Graham of Kalispell passed away on May 25, 2018 in Glacier National Park. Don was born on October 1, 1959 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Roger and Barbara Graham, and was the oldest of three children. The family lived in Grand Forks and Fargo, ND, as well as Poplar, MT before permanently settling in Kalispell in 1974.  Don married Jana Rundell in 1981 and they had two sons, Dustin and Tanner. Don joined the Navy and did 3 tours to Antarctica as a helicopter mechanic. After his discharge in 1985, Don and Jana came back to Kalispell before moving to Bozeman where Don earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He was employed by Schlumberger Oil Services for 22 years, with the family moving between Wyoming and Colorado, finally settling in the Denver area from 2005-2016. They then decided it was time to come home to Montana where both Don and Jana began working for Kalispell Public Schools. Don and Jana were both thrilled to be back in Montana. Don was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed ice hockey, fishing, camping, hiking, skydiving, golf, kayaking, bicycling and anything else he could find to do outdoors. He loved skydiving and the friendships he made through it. Ice hockey was a passion and he was very active in the Colorado and Montana Hockey Referee Associations. In recent years his love of cycling was his “obsession of the month” as he would say. He rode through the mountains of Colorado and Montana with pure joy. Don is survived by his wife Jana, son Dustin (Ana) Graham, son Tanner Graham, father Roger (Darlene) Graham, brother, Doug (Vicki) Graham and sister Dani (Randy) Burtsfield, one grandson Austin Stuart, 5 nephews, 10 nieces and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Dupont and grandparents on both sides. He will be missed every day and never forgotten. There will be a celebration of Don’s life to be held Saturday June 2, 2018 at 10:00am at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in the Country Kitchen building.
