Constance (Connie) Ann Dominguez was born on August 23rd, 1928 in Deer Grove, IL. She was 1 of 19 children in her family and 100% Italian! Her family includes two daughters, Candy (David) Bogard and Angel Dominguez.
She has three grandchildren (Brittney Bogard, Preston (Laura) Bogard, Breanna (David) Miller) and six great grandchildren (Emma and Sophia Bogard; Bently, Kohen, Brycen and Brooklyn Miller).
She was a wonderful mom who never allowed obstacles to prevent her from accomplishing her goals. After completing her Bachelor's degree in Education, she taught biology and physical education classes in Bradford and Rock Falls, Illinois. Being a single parent, she ensured she provided for her two young daughters, often working multiple jobs. One of her favorites was teaching dance lessons to junior high students at the YMCA in Sterling, Illinois. She continued to supplement her education throughout the summers, obtaining a Master's degree in Counseling. She delighted in her position as Dean of Students at East Peoria Community High School (EPCHS). One of her proudest accomplishments was being recognized "Dean of the Year" for the 1984-85 school year, chosen by her fellow Deans for "Outstanding Achievements in the areas of Leadership, Service, and Student Acceptance". Everyone who attended EPCHS knew her as "Mrs. D." and will remember her with the quick clicking of her heels down the hallway. Stay out of her way! She often volunteered for the Suicide Prevention Hotline, manning the phones late at night, available to anyone in need. She was always giving back.
Connie's passion was golf, and she was an avid golfer. She boasted of eight holes in one, and always volunteered when any PGA events came to San Diego! She was a wonderful mother, and we will miss her warmth, exuberance for life, and her love greatly.
