Bruce Mitchell

Bruce Duane Mitchell “was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” April 23, 2018. He was born in Detroit Lakes Minnesota on June 10, 1941, to Merl and Gladys Mitchell. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High School. He enlisted in the Navy and served four years. He married Lois Nyland on August 8, 1964 and together they raised their two children, Scott Mitchell and Lori Wood. Bruce worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone in Fargo and Bismarck, North Dakota for eleven years. The family moved to Kalispell Montana in 1976 where he worked for CenturyTel for thirty-five years. Bruce enjoyed serving his Lord in various ways. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling and watching Minnesota sports.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bob Mitchell and nephew Mike Mitchell. He is survived by his wife Lois, his children Scott Mitchell and Lori (Pat) Wood, Grandchildren Ashley (Clay) Davis, Rylan Walker, Aleesha Hillis, and great grandson Korbin Walker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, his sister Carolyn and brother in law Chuck Fox, step mother Thelma Mitchell, and sister in law Karen Mitchell.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 5 at 11AM at Bethel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Bethel Baptist Youth Programs c/o Bethel Baptist Church, 936 4th Ave W Kalispell Mt 59901. Arrangements are under the care of Johnson Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.
