After graduating from Kearny High in New Jersy in 1977 she headed west, attending the California College of Arts and Crafts before moving to Montana in 1980. Over the years Beth worked for the Forest Service, as a graphic designer, and as a tutor while raising her children and taking classes at the Flathead Valley Community College. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Montana in 1993.
