Ann Catherine Bassett died at 85, peacefully in her home in Kalispell, Montana with her husband, Dick, by her side after a long battle with Parkinson's disease on the morning of March 9, 2022.
Ann was born on September 28, 1936, in Erie, Pennsylvania to Lillian and James Fitzpatrick. Ann spent her early years in the Northeast, making countless memories with her 8 brothers and sisters; forming bonds that would last for the rest of their lives. She married Bob Cox and welcomed 2 sons, Alan and Dan. In 1964, she married Richard (Dick) Bassett and they welcomed a daughter, Julie.
Ann and Dick lived all over the west coast, from California to Washington to Alaska, before settling in Enumclaw, Washington, a small town nestled in the foothills of the Cascade mountains.
As a result of her abundant love of travel, Ann opened Enumclaw Travel with her friend, and partner, Judy, in 1981. She and Judy went on countless trips over their years as business partners, spanning the globe from Korea to Ireland.
Ann was a dedicated Navy wife, supporting her husband through years of service until his retirement in 2001.
Ann and Dick spent the next 42 years in Enumclaw, raising their daughter and watching their daughter marry and raise her children. Over the years Ann made frequent trips to see her sons, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, maintaining deep and lasting relationships with them all.
In 2013, Ann and Dick followed their daughter to Northwest Montana where she spent the remainder of her years.
Ann was loved by all who met her and made lasting impacts on all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
