Amanda Marie (Otterbacher) Alexander, age 33, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on Saturday, October 1 in Kalispell, MT due to injuries sustained in a car accident.
Mandie was born November 7, 1982 in Colorado Springs, CO. where she was raised by her parents Alan and Karen Otterbacher. After meeting the love of her life, Caleb Wayne Alexander, she moved to Montana on December 31, 2003.
Mandie and Caleb confirmed the notion of love at first sight, while eventually, Caleb gave Mandie the fairytale plotline she dreamt of and deserved. Alone, and on a snowy Woodland Park pond, Caleb turned a night of ice-skating into a magical moment when he asked her to be his bride on January 1, 2004. Mandie and Caleb were married on May 29, 2004 in Kalispell, MT, surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones.
Mandie was a high school graduate who enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing. She was an avid reader, as well as a dedicated No. 12 who loved her Seattle Seahawks. Mandie also enjoyed getting outdoors with Caleb and their three children, Emilie, Thomas, and Olivia, as their travels took them all over the United states and Canada.
Mandie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, wife, mother, and woman of God. She was beautiful inside and out, and touched the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Mandie was filled with joy, love, compassion, and understanding; she exuded confidence, wisdom, and integrity, and carried an infectious personality that could brighten the darkest of moods. Her smile was perfect, her laugh contagious. She loved unconditionally and was generous, honest, and kind. She was a friend to the friendless and a light to the lost. She was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

Mandie was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years, worked for Compassion International before her marriage to Caleb, where she coordinated, matched, and kept children connected with their sponsors. She was also a member of The Church of God and the Highline Home Educators. After God, Mandie’s life revolved around building a better life for her family. Caleb, Emilie, Thomas, and Olivia were well loved, and well taken care of. Her kids were her heart. As their mother and home school teacher there wasn’t a day that went by where she wasn’t sacrificing her wants and needs for their own.
Mandie was preceded in death by her father G. Alan Otterbacher, her grandmother Barb Burnett, her grandfather Tom Horton, her brother in law James Alexander, her aunt Margaret Fiedler, her uncle Donald Horton, and uncle Danny Horton.
Mandie is survived by her loving husband Caleb Alexander and beautiful children Emilie Alexander, Thomas Alexander, and Olivia Alexander, her mother Karen Otterbacher, father and mother in law Kirby and Nancy Alexander, her sister Melissa Hendricks and brother in law Dave Hendricks and their four children, her sister in law Noelle Alexander, her brother in law Paul Alexander and sister in law Grace Alexander and their four children, Jason Wall, who was like a brother to Mandie, as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends who loved her dearly.
A service will be held for Mandie on Friday, October 7 at 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, Hwy 93 North, Kalispell, MT 59901.
