We have known John and Carol since they moved to Echo Lake years ago. We have been coming from Canada to our little cabin just down the road since 1983. John was a good friend over the years, and I loved his stories. They broke the mold when he was born, a unique, colorful, good man. Never did try to arm wrestle with him because I would have always lost. He had a kind heart and a good sense of humor, and he shouldered this illness with bravery. He invited me, on occasion, to have breakfast in Woods Bay during the summer with his great friends, amd I was touched one of those times when we all held hands around the restaurant table to say grace. It was like a scene out of a Norman Rockwell painting, something that America (and Canada) needs to get back to. We wish Carol, his very kind, soft-spoken wife, peace and reassurance in the months and years ahead, and for a wonderful reunion when that great day comes. God speed, my friend. My sincere condolences to the Endsley family on the loss of your loved one. Death can bring much tears and pain but may your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of times spent together. My deepest sympathy to you all.
